Welcome Players! Not much practice went down this week as I spent a bit of time exploring the land of Maple Syrup: Toronto, Canada. It was a great trip to reset the body and mind, and would recommend it to anyone, especially to go see Niagara Falls eh. A quick review of the beginning of the week in Golf world before looking ahead to next!

Training Week in Review
Not much to report this week as this was a travel week in the chapter of life.
I spent a long weekend in the Northland of Toronto, Canada.
We took a day-trip to experience Niagara Falls, one of the unofficial wonders of the world.
It made me think how underrated it is. We Americans, especially in the Northeast, take it so much for granted because it’s easy to access and inexpensive.
“I can go see that anytime!”
But do you?!?
I had a moving experience at the Falls.
The sheer natural power and energy released from half of a million gallons of water releasing over the falls every second.
Hearing the roar of the water, feeling the wind and mist kick back up from the crash site.
The sheer size of the water falls (yes, there are multiple) is almost dulled by how big the surrounding landscape is.
It’s hard to gauge how incredible vast they are because of how much space is around you!
And then to see a giant sheet of never-ending water flow from the cliffs above onto the pool below, where the mist never once stops to rest.
We were also extremely lucky to visit on the exact day that the newly created tunnel experience opened for the season, where you get to travel 170ft down to the bottom of the falls and experience it from both a bunker in front of it and a carved tunnel behind it.
I can’t overstate the experience of feeling the thunderous water from inside the rock.
I’m sure many people have seen nothing more than a big waterfall, and that’s cool.
But I saw the power of mother nature. The beauty. Her elegance and dominance on display simultaneously.
It made me wonder - as I pestered my girlfriend with questions of imagination - what do you think it was like, thousands of years ago, to be a human roaming the untouched lands and come across this scene.
As you traverse over the hills to hear a low rumble - wondering what that could be.
You creep towards it over the grasslands, seeing a flowing of water disappear over the horizon.
Scared, confused, cautious - you creep towards the thundering sound prepared for an army on the other side.
But once you get there - you see the water tumble hundreds of feet beneath you as another land unravels in front of your eyes.
The scene must be remarkable.
And then I snap back to reality, to the sounds of flashing cameras and foreign languages, younger girls performing dances for tik tok and young boys disinterested in the water but heavily vying to try the carnival games.
What a shame such natural beauty is confiscated by the attention of society.
What I would give to go back in time and experience the discovery for the first time, if not just for a second…
Habit Tracker
A good Monday/Tuesday before I scrambled to prepare for my travels last-minute (as usual). Nothing you can do about traveling and maintaining practice, you’ve seen my stance on this before from previous trips: enjoy life. Don’t let practice and improvement stand in the way of living. That defeats the purpose!
Training Log
Resistance Train (Gym): 1
Conditioning (Cycling): 0
Yoga (@ home): 0
I got one resistance training session in which is good enough for a front-loaded week. No qualms about that. Was hoping to get a conditioning session in the morning of my travel day but time was too tight. I’m also going to sideline my bike until I can get new rims. This will both increase the efficiency of my rides by having better equipment but it’ll also work to shave off my down-time by preventing flat tires so I can be more consistent.
Skill Practice
No range time this week.
Golf Performance
None here either.
Wrap-Up
It was magical to feel one of natures wonders.
So what would it feel like?
To discover something so amazing for the very first time?
That, I won’t be able to answer.
But when this journey is over, and I’ve reached my goal, something tells me the feelings will be quite comparable.
See you next week!
